Before you choose the photographs
Prepare a funeral slideshow with care and a clear plan
A memorial video does not need to cover every year to feel complete. A few familiar expressions, important relationships and ordinary moments can help the room remember the person, not just the dates of their life.
Begin with what you already have
Choose one person to gather original photographs and short clips from relatives. Include scans when they matter, even if their dates are uncertain, and set a collection deadline so the family can review a settled selection.
Choose a gentle structure
Group early life, family, work, friendships and later years into simple chapters. Check the spelling of names and the opening and closing dates together. There is no need to force every photograph into exact chronological order.
Check the service arrangements
Confirm the available runtime and playback requirements with the funeral director or venue. Review the complete video and soundtrack ahead of the service, and agree on a backup playback plan with the person operating the screen.
How many photos will fit?
Allow room to look at each face. At four seconds per photo, 75 photos occupy five minutes before titles, clips and transitions. If the service slot is short, reduce the selection rather than rushing every image.
